Humans are destined to philosophize, whether they want to or not. To help them walk "their first steps, Joseph (I.M.) Bochenski, O.P., has written this book. It has been called THE GOLDEN CLASSIC of treasured avenues leading into philosophical debates, and has initiated many, many novices into the fascinating world of philosophy.
Drawn from a very popular series of radio lectures on basic philosophical issues - ranging from truth to thinking, from laws to values, from humanity to society - the discourse takes us from Plato to Wittgenstein, from Kant to Aristotle, and back. And you don't feel overwhelmed at all!

This book has had many reprints in several languages. Finally, it has become available to the American market.

Joseph M. Bochenski, O.P., is considered to be one of the most prominent logicians of this century, deeply rooted in the rich Aristotelian-Thomistic tradition. He taught logic at the Angelicum in Rome and philosophy at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). He was also a visiting professor at the University of Notre Dame, the University of California at Los Angeles, the University of Kansas, and the University of Pittsburgh.
